EUROPEAN NATIONS CUP: Crucial Austria v Denmark

21.04.2012
Austria v Denmark in Odense (ENC 2C)

Venue: Atletikstadion

Referee: Grzegorz Michalik (Poland)

Preview

P W D L PF PA DIFF BT BL PT
ISRAEL 6 5 0 1 126 92 34 1 0 21
DENMARK 6 4 1 1 127 94 33 0 1 19
AUSTRIA 6 3 0 3 129 102 27 1 2 15
HUNGARY 6 2 0 4 97 124 4 0 2 10
NORWAY 5 0 1 4 36 93 -57 0 1 3

This is a crucial game for both teams. Austria is off the pace with 3 loses whist Denmark is set to challenge Israel at the top of the table.

Austria won its first ever test match against Denmark in May last year. This is a team that is going from strength to strength. Last weekend they defeated Slovenia away in a friendly. Slovenia plays in a division one higher than Austria.

Denmark’s game against Israel on 5 May will be a crucial game but they first have to overcome Austria Saturday. Returning for this test match after long injury breaks are Dominick Wilson (23 tests) and Søren Brobyskov (41 tests).

I expect this to be a very closely contested test match
